Fifth Junior Tournament for the Red Cheta Radetsky Cup

The football tournament brought together over 80 children from eight school teams from Kozloduy, Oryahovo, Vratsa, Knezha, Panagyurishte and Turnava at Hristo Botev Stadium in Kozloduy over the weekend.

The winner of the tournament for the second consecutive year is the team of Sofia University “St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”after a contested match with the team of the Vratsa High School of Mathematics, and the third place was placed by the children of the Vasil Levski Primary School Knezha. In fourth place was the team of Red Rada Radetsky, who, although the smallest participants in the tournament, showed enviable skills at the level of their larger rivals.

The organizers of the tournament awarded all participants who, in addition to buying medals for their services, received original football teams and a number of other thematic awards.

Traditional International Nuclear Conference of Bulat

The traditional international nuclear conference, organized by the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM) “Bulgarian Atomic Energy – National, Regional and World Energy Security”, was held at the Riviera Holiday Club – Varna from 5-7 June 2019.

Meetings were held with French companies operating in the industry. The initiative was organized jointly with the Franco-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

High School Conference on “Nuclear Energy for Pure Nature”

On March 16, 2019 in the House of Energy – Kozloduy, a conference was held on the topic: “Nuclear Energy for Pure Nature” dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the launch of the Kozloduy NPP First Unit and 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Albert Einstein.

The event was organized by the Association for Women in the Nuclear Industry – Bulgaria (WiN Bulgaria) in association with the Union of Veterans in the Nuclear Industry.

High school students from five schools in the cities of Kozloduy, Belene and Montana participated in the conference. Contests for presentation, video, brochure, essay and case study were announced on the topic.

Contest prizes were provided by the sponsors of the Conference, who have supported future professionals for years.

Participation in the conference “Cybersecurity in Electric Mobility and Digital Transformation in Energy Infrastructure”

On October 26, at the Military Academy “G. S. Rakovski ”- Sofia held a conference on“ Cybersecurity in Electric Mobility and Digital Transformation in Energy Infrastructure ”(part of the European Month for Cybersecurity 2018).

The event is organized by ECEM – the National Branch Organization for Electric Mobility in Bulgaria, with the assistance of the Military Academy “G. S. Rakovski ”- Sofia, Bulgarian Nuclear Society, Sofia Security Forum and Kozloduy NPP – New Capacities. Media partners of the event were Darik Radio and Utilities Magazine, and financial support was provided by EVN and EnergoService AD.

The conference was attended by EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Maria Gabriel, representatives of the Bulgarian and European Parliament, business, higher and vocational education, as well as many of ECEM’s members and partners.

Sixth Annual Meeting with Key Customers and Organizations

On April 12 and 13 this year, the sixth annual meeting on “Engineering providing of systems of management and control at the NPP” was organized at RIU Pravets Resort. Challenges and solutions. ” Special guests Emanuel Boyer and Tommy Talquist of Mirion Technologies, Victor Moisa of MATE-FIN, Romania, Ivan Pironkov of Westinghouse Energy Systems, Jean-Jacques Jourdan and Rosen Rusev of HACH attended the event. Experts Ekim Ekimov, Lyubomir Pironkov, Paolina Ivanova and Georg Baharov took part in the lecture on the part of EnergoService.

The first day of the event started with a greeting from the CEO of EnergoService Georgi Manchev, after which the representatives of Mirion Technologies introduced the company’s product portfolio in the field of radiation protection. Emphasis was placed on the continuous measurement instrument for the concentration of boron BM 501, whose working principle is based on the determination of the neutron absorption rate through isotope 10B. The program continued with the presentation of the project implemented by EnergoService for the construction of a dosimetric control system for the needs of the Specialized Unit “Decommissioning 1-4 Unit” of DP RAW, based on Mirion Technologies technologies. The second panel of the day continued with a presentation dedicated to the portable iPIX gamma-ray imaging system, designed to remotely locate and identify low-level radioactive sources and determine dose rate at the real-time measuring point. The day ended with the presentation of the Second Line of Defense Program by Program Coordinator Georgi Matveev.

On April 13, the program continued with a presentation by a representative of MATE-FIN, who shared good practices on low-level radioactive waste management at the Black Water NPP, Romania. This was followed by presentations by Westinghouse Energy Systems on Digital Control Panels – Design, Challenges, Benefits and Lessons, and by HACH on process electrochemical and chemical analysis of water in energy. At the end of the day Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) introduced the guests to the main goals and opportunities offered by the Master’s program in Nuclear Security – the result of an agreement on cooperation in education and research between UNWE and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
