BULATOM Marks 25 Years of Supporting Nuclear Energy Development in Bulgaria

During BULATOM’s annual conference, representatives of industry, government institutions and international organizations came together to discuss the future of nuclear energy in Bulgaria and across Europe.

The discussions focused on key priorities for the sector, including the implementation of new nuclear capacity at Kozloduy NPP, strengthening supply chains, deploying advanced technologies, and developing the next generation of nuclear professionals. A common message emerged throughout the conference: ensuring long-term energy security requires close cooperation among all stakeholders.

For EnergoService, the event provided an excellent opportunity not only to reconnect with long-standing partners and colleagues from across the nuclear community, but also to reaffirm the important role Bulgarian companies can play in the major projects that lie ahead. With strong engineering expertise, extensive industry experience and a highly qualified workforce, Bulgarian businesses are well positioned to contribute to the continued development of the nuclear sector.

We would like to congratulate BULATOM on its 25th anniversary and thank the organization for its consistent commitment to fostering professional dialogue, knowledge exchange and industry cooperation over the past quarter century.

We look forward to continuing our joint efforts in support of a safe, reliable and sustainable nuclear future.

New opportunities for collaboration in nuclear technology

Strengthening international partnerships and bringing innovative technologies to the Bulgarian nuclear sector were at the heart of the recent visit of the GEORGIN team to Bulgaria, hosted by EnergoService AD.

The programme included a technical visit and presentation at Kozloduy NPP, providing an excellent opportunity for constructive discussions on the application of GEORGIN’s technologies in the nuclear industry.

GEORGIN representatives Pierre Kerlann and Mathias Tryjefaczka presented the company’s portfolio of industrial and nuclear instrumentation solutions. Their technologies attracted considerable interest from plant specialists, particularly with regard to reliability, qualification requirements, and long-term operational performance.

With decades of experience, GEORGIN is a recognized French manufacturer of industrial instrumentation, signal interface solutions, and safety systems for nuclear power plants, conventional power generation facilities, and other critical industries. The company’s portfolio includes ATEX, SIL, and IECEx certified products designed to meet the highest safety and performance standards.

At EnergoService, we see strong potential for GEORGIN to become a valuable technology partner for the Bulgarian nuclear sector, particularly in the areas of instrumentation and control, qualified equipment, and modernization projects.

As a trusted local partner with extensive experience in the Bulgarian nuclear industry, EnergoService combines in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry practices, and stakeholder expectations. Our goal is to build sustainable, long-term cooperation that creates tangible value for the sector.

During the visit, the GEORGIN delegation was also accompanied by the EnergoService team to a meeting with H.E. Marie Dumoulin at the Embassy of France in Sofia, organized with the support of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussion highlighted the importance of institutional support in fostering the deployment of French technologies and strengthening French-Bulgarian cooperation in the nuclear field.

As the Bulgarian nuclear sector enters a new phase marked by modernization projects, lifetime extension programmes, equipment qualification activities, and future nuclear developments, international partnerships and technological innovation will play an increasingly important role. EnergoService remains committed to actively contributing to this process.
