“On May 27, 2021, the Annual maintenance of Unit 5 at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant was completed. At 9:51 a.m., the unit was synchronized with the country’s power grid following an inspection and approval by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.

During the maintenance campaign, which began on April 17, 2021, the reactor of Unit 5 was refueled with fresh nuclear fuel. All necessary repair and maintenance activities on the equipment were carried out, along with a series of measures aimed at enhancing safety and ensuring long-term operation.”, as announced on the plant’s official website.

The event will take place on Friday, February 19, 2021, from 14:00 to 16:00.

On 1 January 2021, Bulgaria became the 34th member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). On the occasion of this accession, a special ceremony was held online yesterday for welcoming Bulgaria to the NEA.

“On October 24, 2020, the Annual maintenance of Unit 6 at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant was completed. At 9:47 a.m., the unit was synchronized with the national power grid following an inspection and approval by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency.”, as announced on the plant’s official website.

The planned annual maintenance, which commenced on September 22, 2020, was carried out with strict adherence to all anti-epidemic measures aimed at minimizing the risk of Covid-19 transmission. The scheduled repair and maintenance activities on the equipment and systems of the unit were completed, along with measures related to the long-term operation of the nuclear power plant. The reactor was refueled with fresh fuel for the next fuel cycle.
